As an Automation Engineer, you must have a capable Computer or Laptop that handles all the workload given to you. And I want to suggest Minimum Computer Specifications for Automation Engineers.
Being an automation engineer you must work on different software that is used for PLC programming and other device configuration-related work.
Based on my experience I want to suggest Minimum Computer Specifications that handle all the tasks that you will perform on your computer.
For PLC programming two famous software is used by Automation engineers. And two famous software is STUDIO 5000 and TIA PORTAL for programming from Siemens and Rockwall Automation PLC.
And this two software are very demanding software in terms of Ram and CPU usage
If your system is capable enough to smoothly run these two software then you will mostly run all the software that is related to automation and design-related tasks.
Minimum System Requirements for TIA Portal
