Introduction: –

On this page, I will regularly share free and open-source software and how to download them online. it might be helpful to you so this is the Free software for simulation and modeling.

If you are a student or a fresh person from an engineering background it will help. and if you have any questions then comment below. You can also check out my post on how to download Siemens TIA portal V17.

1. DWSIM

DWSIM

About DWSIM software: –

DWSIM is a multiplatform, CAPE-OPEN compliant chemical process simulator for Windows, Linux, Android, macOS, and iOS.

DWSIM allows chemical engineering students and practicing engineers to model process plants by using rigorous thermodynamic and unit operations models.

Since DWSIM is free/libre and open-source, they can see how the calculations are being done by inspecting the code behind during execution using free/libre tools available elsewhere.

DWSIM’s powerful Thermodynamics engine is also available as a standalone dynamic link library (DLL) that can be linked against proprietary applications.

2. e-Sim

eSim

About eSim software: –

eSim (previously known as Oscad / FreeEDA) is a free/libre and open-source EDA tool for circuit design, simulation, analysis, and PCB design. It is an integrated tool built using free/libre and open-source software such as KiCad, Ngspice, and GHDL.

eSim is released under GPL.eSim offers similar capabilities and ease of use as any equivalent proprietary software for schematic creation, simulation, and PCB design, without having to pay a huge amount of money to procure licenses.

Hence it can be an affordable alternative to educational institutions and SMEs. It can serve as an alternative to commercially available/licensed software tools like OrCAD, Xpedition, and HSPICE

5. FreeCAD

FreeCAD

About FreeCAD software: –

FreeCAD is made primarily to design objects for the real world. Everything you do in FreeCAD uses real-world units, be it microns, kilometers, inches or feet, or even any combination of units.

FreeCAD offers tools to produce, export and edit solid, full-precision models, export them for 3D printing or CNC machining, create 2D drawings and views of your models, and perform analyses such as Finite Element Analyses, or export model data such as quantities or bills of materials.
